Good day to all fsmb clarinetists out there I'm Caren here! I guess not many of you really know me since I'm the 1st batch - pioneer of Fuhua Sec + Band. Ohh but first I got to clarify some stuff. Jes you said something about clarinetists blowing loud right? I think that's not actually the main issue because it's more important to have a good tone than blowing loud with an ugly tone (sounding like a duck).

But during the 4 years in fsmb, me together with Meng and my bro have observed that clarinetists in fsmb tend to be afraid of blowing out. By saying blowing out, I don't mean blowing loud. When you're supposed to come in at let's say, the 2nd bar of a song, blow the notes out and don't wait for your other friends to come in then you follow suit. If you come in at the wrong time, it's okay. Everyone makes mistakes. You have to learn from them. If you prefer to blow the notes to yourself and not risk making any mistakes, I don't think you'll learn anything at all.

Anyway, I really hope that a senior in the clarinet section is teaching theory to the newer members. Are you doing that Jes? xD Yup. And every year, Meng and my bro are supposed to help me in teaching theory for the newer members but somehow, they always manage to make me do all the teachings by myself. How unfair life was! But I can't make time turn back. Graduating from SP soon and haven't been to fsmb for like 1 year and miss seeing Ms Tan. Ahh. How bad I am. Haa. Anyway all fsmb clarinetists please work hard to get your notes right and good and remember to study and play hard as well! All the best to all of you out there!
